Bamberg BPW Unclaimed Property

This search is provided to show accounts with unclaimed refund balances. Accounts with balance amounts greater than $25.00 and those with balance amounts less than $25.00 are noted. This information is separated at this level because that is the separation point for different notification requirements by the S.C. Uniform Unclaimed Property Act and to allow customers to discern the cost of collecting the refund.

In the unfortunate event the named customer has deceased, we sincerely offer our condolences. To collect the refund allocated to the deceased customer’s account, we require an Affidavit for Collection of Personal Property Pursuant to Small Estate Proceeding.(Form 420ES) To provide this documentation, you will need to file the required documents with Probate Court in the county where the customer passed away. There are fees associated with the Probate Court issuing the Affidavit for Collection of Personal Property Pursuant to Small Estate Proceeding. Upon verification, we will remit a check to the Rightful Successor to the Estate.

Pursuant to South Carolina law, any refund unclaimed prior to October 31, 2022, will be submitted to the State Treasurers Office. Information regarding South Carolina Unclaimed Property is available online at: https://treasurer.sc.gov/what-we-do/for-citizens/unclaimed-property-program/.
